Hey! My name is Mike, but most people call me "Koop" or "The Beard." I have been tuning, waxing, and repairing skis & boards professionally since 2015 and as a hobby since the 90s. You may recognize me from some of the local brick-and-mortar shops around town. I've lived in Boise my whole life and have been fighting wildfires in the summertime since 2006. In the winters, I spend most of my time skiing, working on skis, reading about skiing, talking about skiing, and trying to make people laugh while skiing. Its kind of an obsession for me--mixed with a bit of a party. I have always believed that the best skier on the mountain is the one who is having the best time.

I especially love doing custom tunes for specific styles of skiing and riding because its crazy how much you can change the way something performs when you know how a person intends to use it. My favorite part of the job is when someone tells me that their setup rides better than it ever has before.
